Miniature Papercraft Fantasy Castle

The template for this miniature papercraft castle originally appeared in the June 1984 issue of Dragon Magazine, a publication dedicated to the subject of role playing games. The official name of the castle is "The High Keep of the Grand Chapter of the Order of St. Raphael". However, to keep things short it was given the nickname "Great Stoney". 1956 Ford Thunderbird Paper Model

Here's an antique paper model of an antique car. This papercraft 1956 Ford Thunderbird was created in 1957 by Otto Ravensburg, a German designer. The model is definitely not for beginners! One factor contributing to the difficulty is that the instructions are in German and do not include any images. A download of the template may be found here. Thunderbirds were first produced for the 1955 model year.

Origami Penguin

Is that you Gunter? ^^ This origami penguin is one of the many designs of origami artist Jo Nakashima. As should be obvious, the penguin was created from a single square of paper that is black on one side and white on the other. A video tutorial on how to fold this origami may be found here. Star Wars XJ-6 Airspeeder Papercraft

In Star Wars: Episode III, Anakin Skywalker hot wires an airspeeder in order to pursue the bounty hunter Zam Wesell who had just made an attempt on Padme Amidala's life. The yellow, open cockpit speeder Anakin "borrowed" was a XJ-6 "hot rod" manufactured by Narglatch AirTech. This paper model of the XJ-6 was created by MTK. Hitchhiker's Guide Papercraft Bobbleheads

Here is a nifty collection of  papercraft bobbleheads depicting characters from the BBC's 1981 television adaptation of Douglas Adams' The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.  Included in the set are Marvin the Robot, Eddie the Computer, Ford Prefect and Arthur Dent. Each of the bobbleheads is the creation of UK papercraft designer BazookaJo. Templates and instructions for the models may be downloaded here. The "bobble effect " for the figures is achieved by making use of a spring from inside a retractable pen.

Sometime, when I wasn't paying attention, David Petersen went and added five new Mouse Guard paper toys to his list of offerings! New to the collection are Gwendolyn, Piper, Rand, Midnight and Conrad (not pictured). Petersen, of course, is the creative genius behind the Mouse Guard comic books on which the paper toys are based. Disney XD Iron Man Paper Toy

The animated television series, The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes! premiered on Disney XD in 2010. This Iron Man  paper toy was released by Disney the same year to promote the show.  The look of the toy reflects the animation style of the series.  Although Earth's Mightiest Heroes was replaced by the Avengers Assemble show in 2013, this papercraft is still available. Papercraft Dodo Bird

Here we have a Japanese paper model of the famous dodo bird. Dodo's are believed to have gone extinct sometime in the late 1600's. The flightless bird became an indelible part of our collective pop culture memory after Lewis Carroll included an anthropomorphic dodo as a character in his 1865 novel, Alice in Wonderland. The papercraft template and instructions for the dodo are available here.

Vintage Papercraft Elephant Pagoda

There have been copies of this antique papercraft elephant pagoda floating around the Internet for years. Now thanks to someone at Wurlington Press we finally get to see what the finished model looks like! As far as I can tell from doing a little research, a real-life building like this probably did not exist. There are however numerous bronze statuettes and incense burners that are similar. Some of them are ancient. The template for the elephant pagoda was originally published in 1928 in the Danish magazine, Illustreet Familie-Journal. A scan of the template may be found here.

Cupid Paper Toy

Here's a cute Cupid paper toy to make for a Valentine's Day decoration. Although it looks simple enough to build, the designer of this papercraft sets the difficulty level of the toy at "medium". A printable PDF of the template may be downloaded here. Valentine's day has been celebrated in the United States since the 19th century.

WH40K Macharius Tank Paper Model

 This paper model of a Warhammer 40K Macharius tank is a repaint by of a model originally created by Eli Patoroch. A PDF template for the model may be downloaded here. The Macharius' weapons include: turret-mounted Twin-Linked Battle Cannons, a hull-mounted Twin-Linked Heavy Stubber, and a sponson-mounted Heavy Bolter on each side. Build photos and repaint by tapapercraft.

Papercraft Tents

These papercraft tents were designed as a craft project for children to teach them about Priscilla and Aquila, a married couple mentioned in several books in the Christian New Testament. Priscilla and Aquila were tentmakers by trade. Three different tent models are available for download at the Jesus Without Words website. Not pictured is the "pup" style tent. These might be useful for miniature gaming, although they will probably need to be printed at a different scale if used for that purpose.

Architecture Papercraft: German Tower and Church

These two free architecture paper models are offered on the website of the Administration of Teltow-Fläming, a district in the state of Brandenburg, Germany. On the left is the market tower of the city of Luckenwalde. On the right is the village church of the city of Mellnsdorf. Both these landmarks were under construction in the first half of the 13th century. The scale of the paper models is 1:87 (HO). High resolution photographs of the actual buildings were used to create the PDF papecraft templates which may be downloaded here.

Guardians of the Galaxy Groot Paper Toy

Finally another Groot papercraft! Produced by a graphic designer, this Groot paper toy comes with two different heads. One of the heads has an angry face. The other head has a somewhat sad looking face. The JPG template for the model may be downloaded at Behance. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 is set to be released in theaters on May 5th of this year. Can't wait!

Clone Wars Y-wing Paper Model

In the Star Wars universe, the BTL-B Y-wing assault starfighter first saw use during the Clone Wars. Later the BTL-B was modified into two different models, the BTL-S3 and the BTL-A4. The BTL-S3 supports a two man crew while the BTL-A4 is a one-man version of the craft.  Both starfighters were used by the Rebel Alliance in their struggles against the Galactic Empire. This paper model BTL-B was created by James Gemperline. A PDF file of the template for the model may be downloaded here.

This relatively simple paper model of a Fokker DR1 triplane is the work of the late, great Italian designer Fabrizio Prudenziati. The World War 1 aircraft's fame in the history of aviation is due to its use by the Red Baron, Germany's top flying ace of the war. The single page template for the model may be downloaded here. In the Naruto franchise, Kakashi Hatake is a fan favorite character who makes frequent appearances in the franchise's movies, television shows and video games. Kakashi is the leader of a team of ninjas known as "Team 7". The members of the team include Naruto, Sasuke, and Sakura. This paper model of Kakashi was created by Coturno Velho.
